Training, Teaching, & Clinical Education

Whether working with clinicians, students, healthcare professionals, educators, faith communities, or nonprofit organizations, I provide engaging presentations and trainings that bridge research, clinical practice, and lived experience. My goal is to create learning experiences that are thoughtful, practical, and responsive to the unique needs of each audience.

Drawing from my experience as a licensed clinical social worker, clinical supervisor, educator, and researcher, I offer presentations that explore the intersections of mental health, culture, identity, relationships, and social context. My work is also informed by my doctoral research in Cultural Studies, which examines how identity, belonging, religion, power, and collective memory shape personal and community experiences. Trainings are tailored to the goals of your organization and can range from introductory workshops to more advanced clinical and professional development topics.

I believe meaningful learning happens when participants are invited to engage with ideas critically, reflect on their own experiences, and consider how new perspectives can inform their work. Whether the focus is clinical skill development, culturally responsive care, Muslim mental health, LGBTQIA+ affirming practice, narrative therapy, or identity and belonging, I strive to create presentations that are both intellectually engaging and practically relevant, leaving participants with insights and tools they can apply long after the training has ended.

my approach

I approach training and speaking as an opportunity to foster meaningful dialogue, critical reflection, and practical learning. Rather than viewing participants as passive recipients of information, I encourage active engagement with ideas and invite individuals to draw connections between research, professional practice, and lived experience. My goal is to create a learning environment where participants feel both challenged and supported as they explore complex topics.

  • Research-Informed and Practice-Oriented: Presentations are grounded in current scholarship, clinical experience, and real-world application, helping participants translate concepts into meaningful action.

  • Interactive and Reflective Learning: Trainings incorporate discussion, case examples, reflection, and engagement to encourage deeper understanding and sustained learning.

  • Culturally Responsive Perspective: I attend to the ways culture, identity, faith, community, and social context shape human experiences, recognizing that effective practice requires both self-awareness and cultural humility.

  • Inclusive and Affirming Framework: I strive to create learning spaces that welcome diverse perspectives and encourage thoughtful engagement with topics related to identity, belonging, equity, and mental health.

  • Tailored to Your Audience: Each presentation is adapted to the unique goals, needs, and level of experience of the audience, whether I am speaking to clinicians, students, educators, healthcare professionals, faith communities, or organizational leaders.
